Data On Previous Engagements (DOPE) is a common term in the shooting and ballistics community, especially among long-range shooters and hunters. DOPE refers to the data or adjustments gathered from previous shots under various conditions, and it’s essential for accurate rifle zeroing and long-range shooting.

This data typically includes information on:

1. Distance and Elevation Adjustments: Data on the holdovers or scope adjustments needed for different distances.
2. Windage: Adjustments for wind at various speeds and directions.
3. Environmental Conditions: Temperature, altitude, humidity, and how these factors affect bullet trajectory.
4. Ammunition Performance: Specific information on bullet type, weight, muzzle velocity, and ballistic coefficient.

What To Expect

We start simple and make sure your setup is on point by confirming 100m Zero.  Then, beginning at 25 metres and increasing by 25-metre increments up to 300 metres. At each range, you’ll gain a clearer picture of your rifle’s performance, specifically here we are looking at the drop, or climb, over that specific distance – and by the end, you’ll have data-backed confidence in every shot.

Here’s how the day is structured:

• 100 meters: Confirm zero *
• 25-300 meters: Shoot with a dead reticle, no adjustment made. Drop is measure from Aim pint in inches or cm.
• 300 meters: Fine-tune for mid-range with a few tips on windage and adjustments.
• 100 metres: Finally, we push out to 100 metres for a reliable zero. You’ll have DOPE for each step, giving you a practical setup you can trust.
